Fiction has always been a prime source of my inspiration. I was interested in fantasy artists, novels, religion… spending any moment of my free time in drawing. The reason I don't have more paintings published is because that there is always some strange ideas that can take you too far, making you admire your work too much and even starting to believe in existance of painted creature or scenario so I had to slow down my work and keep my feets on the ground. I attended Academy Of Fine Arts hoping to develop my self and I applied these new academic experiences with my own work. Most of my work comes out just fine for me having this "spice" of mine beside comercial routines. These days it is hard to paint something that somebody, somewhere, didn't already paint, at least similar idea but still, as long as you know it is your own work, it should be enough to give you inspiration to keep on working.

Concidering traditional technique I start with a simple art background as sketch and after, with experimental colour filling. One of the materials I continued to work with is acrylic. It is stabile and drying very fast. To achieve the visual results, I changed my direction and started to add oils. It requires speciall preparation cos if oil comes in touch with unprepared surface it will influance quality of the painting. That's where acrilycs are so usefull. It can be used as preparation cover and underpainting material in the same time! Oils tend to dry slowly so my compromise is to prepare AND underpaint the painting with acrylics, build up it's background quickly and finish it with a thin coat of oil. This allows the rich blended look with a shorter drying time. This is not the rule but fastest way to make a good looking painting.

Harmonizing colors is very important too and I use to make an overall colour wash. First, I use to do masses and then details, making accents to most interesting or most important parts of the painting, depending on composition or subject. Oftenly, colour wash needs to be done as a final touch, so, there is no rule for that either. Concidering brushes, I am using mostly quality ones but not always. Even cheapest brushes can be very usefull depending on what you want to do.

The best way to achieve knowledge is to follow, study and copy old masters! Following that way you can make stunning results in relative short time, finding time to choose your own favorite way of work.
